The relationship between factory employees' healthy lifestyle behaviors and anti-vaccine

Every individual should adopt positive health behaviors and create a healthy lifestyle to protect and improve their own health. Living a healthy life will have positive effects on the lives of factory employees, just like every individual, and will enable them to be more productive individuals. This study aimed to examine the relationship between healthy lifestyle behaviors of factory workers and anti-vaccination. The cross-sectional and descriptive research was conducted between September and December 2022 with 850 factory employees (28.33%) working in 5 factories affiliated with Büyük Anadolu ÖSGB and agreeing to participate in the research. Data were collected under observation with the sociodemographic characteristics form, healthy lifestyle behaviors and anti-vaccine scale. SPSS 24.0 statistical package program was used to evaluate the data and descriptive statistics, chi-square test and analysis of variance were used. 94.2% of the participants are male, the general average age is 34.6. 41.5% of the participants have never had a tetanus vaccine. The healthy lifestyle behaviors of factory employees who received the tetanus vaccine 21-45 years ago remained below average. There was no significant difference between healthy lifestyle behaviors and tetanus vaccination status, number of children, presence of chronic disease, and income level (p>0.05). There was no significant difference between anti-vaccination and marital status, region of residence, and healthy lifestyle behaviors (p>0.05). A significant difference was found between opposition to vaccination and the number of children (p<0.05). According to the results obtained, factory employees should be informed about anti-vaccination and healthy lifestyle behaviors, and vaccination campaigns should be organized in workplaces and the doses of expired vaccines should be completed.
