Abstract (EN)

This study aims at analyzing the agreement between the opinions of the teachers and students related to uses of fairy tales in the teaching of English as a foreign language in reading classes in three private schools in Gaziantep. Two questionnaires have been adopted as data collection instruments in this descriptive study. Frequencies and percentages were calculated for each item of the questionnaires. One of the questionnaires was given to the students of sixth, seventh and eight year classes and the other questionnaire was given to their English instructors at these three private schools; TED College, Sanko College and GKV College. 262 students and 28 English instructors answered their own questionnaires. This study has seven main research questions which have also their subsequent subresearch questions for teachers and twelve main research questions having also their subsequent sub-research questions for students.
