Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to produce hydrogen-rich synthesis gas through the gasification process from biomass taken from different sources (sewage sludge, green waste and pomace) and to examine whether the produced synthesis gas can be evaluated with different and useful usage alternatives. For this purpose, a fixed-bed downdraft (modified cross-draft) gasification reactor prototype suitable for the gasification of biomass was developed, tar and tar formation in the reactor was monitored by operating under different operating conditions, and the catalyst effect in increasing the quality of the synthesis gas was examined. It has been determined that the calorific value varies between 5 and 13 MJ/m3, and the gas conversion rate varies between 23% and 70%. The maximum cold gas efficiency was 92% for green waste, 62% for pomace and 73% for sewage sludge. As a result, this study demonstrated that high efficiency energy can be obtained from biomass taken from different sources.
