Abstract (EN)
Gambusia holbrooki (Mosquito fish) is a fish species commonly found in the inland waters of the Thrace region and used as a biological control tool. Sodium hypochlorite, which is the subject of the thesis, is a chemical used in large quantities for domestic, health and hygiene purposes, and it has been widely used in mass scale all over the world, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. The subject of the thesis is to determine the acute toxicity of sodium hypochlorite in Gambusia holbrooki (Mosquito fish) in different experimental systems (static, regenerative and flow), and reveals how the acute toxic effect values change in different experimental systems. The LC50 value obtained in different acute test systems under the same conditions was determined as 0.804 ppm for the static test system, 0.342 ppm for the regenerative test system and 0.404 ppm for the flow test system.
