Abstract (EN)

This study was carried out in the field of Siirt University Faculty of Agriculture during the 2024 summer chickpea growing season. The research was carried out in experimental conditions with drip irrigation method and a randomized split-plot design with three replications. Three different chickpea genotypes (C1: Hasanbey, C2: Seçkin, C3: İnci) were used in the experiment. Irrigation applications were carried out at I100, I50 and I0 levels depending on the water content in the soil. Soil water amount was measured with A-Pan evaporation pan. Yield and some yield components were investigated in the research. As a result of the research; yield values varied between 1861,66 – 2200,33 kgha-1, 1620,22 – 2440,22 kgha-1 and 2680,00 – 1506,33 kgha-1 according to genotype, irrigation subjects and genotype-irrigation subject interactions, respectively. Plant water stress index (CWSI) values varied between 0,65 – 0,31, 0,54-0,46 and 0,68-0,23, respectively. Chlorophyll index value was determined as 39,12 – 38,08 spad, 44,67 – 34,00 spad and 45,39-33,52 spad. Water use efficiency (WUE) was determined as 0,68 – 0,58 kgda-1/mm, 0,65 – 0,61 kgda-1/mm and 0,71 – 0,56 kgda-1/mm. Nodule formation was determined as 8,26 - 7.29, 9,21 – 0,61 and 10,15 – 6,44, respectively. Plant root distribution was determined as 4,99 – 4,33, 6,62 – 3,21 and 7,26 – 3,08, respectively. As a result, according to these findings, it is possible to say that the combination of I100 irrigation regime and İnci genotype is the most efficient alternative for chickpea production in semi-arid regions such as Siirt. While I100 irrigation optimizes the efficient use of water resources, İnci genotype increases the resistance of the plant to environmental stresses and its production potential. Therefore, chickpea producers are advised to prefer efficient genotypes such as I100 irrigation program and İnci genotype, which do not have water constraints. This strategy will both increase yield and contribute to sustainable agricultural practices.
