Abstract (EN)

This research was conducted at Research Field, Faculty of Agriculture University of Tekirdag Namık Kemal in 2018. The experiment was designed in randomized complete plot design with three replications. The aim of this research was to determine of different sowing rates (3.0, 4.5, 6.0 and 7.5 kg/da) on seed yield and some quality traits of safflower. The four cultivars of safflower (Dinçer, Balcı, Linas and Olas) was used as a material of this research. In the study emergence days number, plant height, branch number, capsule number, number of seeds per capsule, capsule diameter, flowering days number, maturity days number, seed yield, 1000 seed weight, hull ratio, oil content, protein content and oil yield were investigated. According to the results, seed yield decreased as sowing rates increased and the highest seed yield was obtained from Linas cultivar with the application of 4.5 kg/da sowing rate (99,06 kg/da). In terms of the oil content, there was no statistically significant difference between sowing rates.
