Abstract (EN)

This research was conducted in 2018-2019 to examine the effects of fast and slow drying treatment and storage on vitality and enzyme activation on seeds harvested in different periods in pepper, tomato and eggplant species. H2274 (Tomato), Burdem (Pepper) and Kemer 27 (Eggplant) varieties were used in the study. The experiments were carried out in the research laboratory of Uşak University Agriculture Faculty and experimental area. In the study, germination-emergence rates (%), mean germination-emergence times (days), controlled deterioration tests, priming and enzyme analysis were performed. In both years, harvest days and drying practices of eggplant seeds were statistically significant when seedling emergence rate and seedling fresh-dry weight parameters were considered. Regarding the germination parameters in the CD test (48h) result; Harvest day*storage*drying and harvestday*drying interactions were found to be significant in pepper and eggplant seeds (p<0.01, 0.05). Drying treatmentsin tomato were statistically significant based on germination parameters in the CD test (72h), in 1st year only MGT, and in 2nd year NG and MGT values (p<0.01).All enzymes differed according to the treatments and harvest times, the highest CAT and APX enzyme values in 60.day tomato and for SOD from 50 and 60 days. In pepper results, CAT activity was found to be high in Control(C) and Storage(S) treatments in 60.day seeds; SOD activity from Slow-drying (SD) (1styear), in 2nd year from C; APX was found high in C and S treatments. In 90.day eggplant seeds SD+D and SD treatments gave the highest CAT level, SD + S and C gave the highest APX activity and C treatments gave the highest SOD activity. In general, drying treatmentsis advantageous in eggplant species and according to the harvest periods in all species, FD + Streatment came to the fore. CAT in tomato, APX and SOD in pepper and all enzyme results in eggplant were statistically significant according to the harvest day*storage*drying interaction.
