Abstract (EN)
In this study, biochar production was made from eucalyptus (Eucalyptus deglupta), poplar wood, olive baggase and cotton harvest waste in the presence of limited oxygen by pyrolisis. Their productivity properties were determined, also. A pot experiment was carried out by the application of four different doses of these biochars (0 t/ha, 10 t/ha, 20 t/ha, 40 t/ha) to soils. Maize plant (Zea mays l.) cultivated on these soils. Beside this experiment, another pot experiment was carried out with olive baggase biochar (Pİ-BK) and biochar with olive mill wastewater (ZK) applications (1- Control; 2- 50 m3/ha ZK; 3- 50 m3/ha ZK + 10 t/ha Pİ-BK; 4- 50 m3/ha ZK 20 t/ha Pİ-BK; 5- 100 m3/ha ZK; 6- 100 m3/ha ZK + 10 t/ha Pİ-BK; 7- 100 m3/ha ZK 20 t/ha Pİ-BK) for the purpose of creating a waste management strategy in olive oil industry. As a result, we determined that biochar application on soils increased the organic matter content, available phosphorus (P) and potassium (K) contents, especially. Applications of biochar did not effect the rate of dry matter for plant but increased the plant height and number of leaf per plant. In the second experiment, the same increase in organic matter content along with available phosphorus and potassium was provided by ZK and Pİ-BK applications too. These applications did not cause a considerable changes in morphological properties of plants.
