Abstract (EN)

Chlorella vulgaris microalgae in the Culture Collection of Ankara University, Faculty of Science, Department of Biology, Biotechnology Research Laboratory, was used in the studies of the thesis. In order to increase microbial growth, the efficiency of Chlorella vulgaris supplemented with carrot, an agricultural waste, in the biosorption of Reactive Black 5 (RB5) dye, which is frequently used in the textile industry, was investigated. In studies, different pH parameters (2,4,6 and 8), initial dye concentrations (150-850 mg/g) and biosorbent concentrations (1-4 mg/L) and dye removal capacities were investigated. As a result of the experiments, it was observed that the most efficient Reactive Black 5 dye removal with Chlorella vulgaris was at pH 4. The highest bioremoval was found at the lowest dye concentration (150 mg/g) at 25oC and at pH 4 as 97.61%. According to the experimental data, it has been understood that the biomass of Chlorella vulgaris has a promising potential for the use of dyes in textile industry wastewater.
