The analysis of the relationship between different socio-economic and educational levels of parent' emotional intelligence and the levels of emotional intelligence of pre-school children

The aim of this research is to investigate the relationship between with different socioecono-mic and educational levels of parents' emotional intelligence and levels of emotional intelli-gence of preschool children. The sample of the research, A total of 270 people, including 90 children and their parents, who continue to pre-primary education institutions under the Directorate of National Education in Bursa. The mothers and fathers who participated in the research, The Bar-On Emotional Intelligence Scale developed by Bar-On (1997) and adapted to Turkish by Mum-cuoğlu (2002), and the Children Emotional Intelligence Scale (S-ÇDZÖ) was applied to the children. The data obtained from the study were analyzed through the SPSS 20 package prog-ram. Kruskal Wallis Test (KWH) and Mann-Whitney U Test were used in the analysis of data that did not show normal distribution. Spearman's Correlation Coefficient was used when examining the relationships between variables that didn't come from the normal distribution. According to the research results, There was no significant relationship between emotional intelligence levels of mothers and fathers and emotional intelligence levels of child-ren. In the sub-dimensions of emotional intelligence scale applied to mothers, there are some differences according to the working status of the mothers and the education level of the mothers, According to the socioeconomic status of the family, there is no significant differen-ce. In the sub-dimensions of emotional intelligence scale applied to fathers, There are some differences according to the education level of the father and the socioeconomic status of the family. Emotional intelligence scale sub-dimensions applied to the child, It was determined that there was a difference according to the gender of the child the socio-economic status of the family, the working status of the mother, and the educational status of the mother and father.
