Abstract (EN)
The masonry architecture in the region has a very rich distribution of perspectives. One of the most prominent structures in masonry architecture is masonry minarets. Masonry minarets are vulnerable structure in terms of earthquakes. The aim of this thesis is to create three-dimensional finite elements of masonry minarets and to evaluate earthquake behaviour of the minarets with time-history analysis. For the analysis, three masonry minarets, 30 m, 35 m and 40 m high and with the same cross-sectional features, were modeled in three dimensions with the SAP2000 program. The dynamic properties of the minarets were determined by the modal analysis method. For the dynamic analysis, time history analyses were used for the seismic evaluation of the minarets. For this purpose, the accelerations of the 1999 Kocaeli, 2003 Bingöl and 2011 Van earthquakes were considered. As a result of the analyses, displacement and stress values were obtained and the seismic responses of the masonry minarets were evaluated depending on the height.
