The change of some herbage yield and quality characteristics of narbon vetch (Vicia narbonensis L.) at harvested in different times

This study was carried out in 2021-2022 cultivation period in order to determine the change of yield and some quality characteristics in Narbon vetch which was harvested at different times in Mardin ecological conditions. In the study Tarman 2002 cultivar of Narbon vetch was used and field trial was carried out with four replications according to randomized block design. The field trial was established on 11 October 2021 and the harvest of Narbon vetch was made in four different times of the spring of 2022 (the beginning of flowering, full flowering, bottom pods formation and full pods formation). In the study; green herbage yield, dry herbage yield, crude protein ratio (CP), acid detergent fiber (ADF) rate, neutral detergent fiber (NDF) rate, total digestible nutrient (TDN) rate, digestible dry matter (DDM) rate, dry matter intake (DMI) rate and relative feed value (RFV) are discussed. In the study; there were statistically significant differences between the green herbage yield, dry herbage yield, CP, ADF, NDF, DMI, DDM, TDN ratios. It can be recommended to harvest narbon vetch in full bloom period in terms of high grass yield and in full bloom period in terms of quality.
