Feminism and terror: Evaluating the Colombian peace process in the framework of feminist theory

Internal conflicts in Colombia have lasted for almost half a century. From the beginning of the conflict to the peace talks, millions of people have lost their lives, been displaced and human rights violations have been experienced. Women, one of the groups most affected by this process, have been both actors and victims during this internal conflict process. The developments in these conflicts, the political, sociological, economic and ideological roots of the conflicts, the phases in the peace process, who are involved and the effect of women on the process are the subject of research. Women who were subjected to various kinds of torture, sexual violence and discrimination during the conflict played an active role in the peace process. After the unsuccessful peace negotiations in Colombia, the final peace agreement was signed between the Colombian government and the FARC in 2016, following the negotiations that started in 2012.
