Determination of the factors affecting the study habits of science teacher candidates

The purpose of this study is to determine what factors affect the study habits of pre-service science teacher. The study employed the causal comparative research method."Survey of Study Habits and Attitudes", developed by Holtzman -Brown (1968), SSHA and "Demographic İnformation Form" were administered. These measurement tools were administered to a total of 467 pre-service teachers studying in the Department of Science Education at three different public universities. In the study, the data were analyzed with t-test and one-way variance analyses (ANOVA). According to the findings of the study; meaningful differences in teacher candidates' study habits based on gender, university, class level, study hours, library, music listening, staying, study, desk, maternal education status and their purpose of using the Internet has been seen. No significant differences were found based on the status of father education, the duration of use of the Internet, the time of watching television and the tv series he/she followed. Different studies can be done on study habits in the future using variables different from the variables used in the study. In addition, similar studies can be compared with teacher candidates in diffirent departments with the science teacher candidates. Identifying factors that affect working habits will enable individuals to have efficient working habits in the future using variables different from the variables used in the study is to determine what factors affect the study habits of science teacher candidates in different departments withthe science teacher candidates in this study.
