Abstract (EN)
In this study, it is aimed to examine the attitudes of science, social studies and class teacher candidates against socioscientific issues. The research was conducted in the 2019-2020 academic year with 129 teacher candidates studying in the third and fourth grades of the Department of Classroom Teaching of a state university's faculty of education, 41 in the third and fourth grades of science teaching and 73 teacher candidates studying in the third and fourth grades of social studies teaching. "Attitude Scale for Socioscientific Issues" was used as a data collection tool in the study. According to the findings of factorial ANOVA test as a result of the analyses; Science, social studies and general attitudes towards socioscientific subjects of class teacher candidates, attitudes of sub-importance and attitudes in the lower dimension of liking are positive, in contrast, science and social information at the lower dimension of anxiety, neither positive nor negative attitudes of teacher candidates were found to be negative. Also, it has been found that the general levels of attitudes and importance, dislike, anxiety sub-dimension average scores about socioscientific subjects do not differ according to the gender, department and class of students. In light of the findings, the importance of socioscientific subjects was noted and recommendations were made to program makers, researchers and practitioners in teaching.
