Examination of science class hsee questions in terms of high-level thinking skills

With the developing technology, it has become important to educate individuals who think differently and in this context, high-level thinking skills have been included in the updated curriculum. The aim of this study is to examine the science course questions of hsee (High School Entrance Examination) conducted in 2018-2023 in terms of high-level thinking skills. In the study, an analysis will be performed to determine to what extent the questions reflect high-level thinking skills such as creative thinking, analytical thinking, critical and reflective thinking. For this purpose, the science hsee questions within the time period determined as a document will be reached. An evaluation scale and analysis template will be used, which will be developed by the researcher in order to analyze the questions reached at different sub-skill levels of high-level thinking skills. Descriptive analysis method will be used in the study. It is expected that the findings to be achieved in the study will make an important contribution to the design of the teaching process of the science course and the measurement and evaluation system in a way that can develop and measure high-level thinking skills.
