Abstract (EN)

All over the world, the chemical industry is one of the most important industrial branches that pollute the environment, and it is one of the sectors that need to be taken precautions. Chemical industry wastewater generally has high COD concentration. In this study, the treatment of chemical industry wastewater was investigated using Fenton and Coagulation - Fenton oxidation processes, and the effects of the parameters affecting the operation in both processes and the conditions in which the best removal was obtained were determined. In the coagulation process, treatment studies were carried out with PAC, FeCl3 and PACS coagulants at different coagulant doses and pH values, and it was observed that the best treatment was PAC and the highest removal efficiency was achieved at 500 mg/l PAC dose and pH 8. Under these conditions, at the end of the coagulation of the chemical industry wastewater, 62.6% COD, 44.3% TOC, 89.5% TSS and 87.6% Turbidity removal were obtained. After coagulation, Fenton oxidation (Fe+2: 3750 mg/l, H2O2: 4250 mg/l, pH: 3, time: 60 min) in wastewater with 79.3% COD, 63.5% TOC, 76.1% TSS and 99.8% Turbidity removal is observed. In wastewater treated with Fenton oxidation process after coagulation, total COD removal was 92.4%, TOC removal 79.7%, TSS removal 96.6% and Turbidity removal 99.8%. In the treatment of chemical industry wastewater only with Fenton oxidation (Fe+2: 2000 mg/l, H2O2: 5000 mg/l, pH: 3) 70.5% COD, 52.7% TOC, 82.0% TSS and 98.6% turbidity removal were obtained. .As a result, when the treatment of chemical industry wastewater is compared with Fenton and Coagulation-Fenton processes, higher COD, TSS and Turbidity removal efficiencies can be achieved at the end of treatment with Fenton oxidation after coagulation.
