Abstract (EN)

The aim of this study is to examine the role of childhood traumas, schema modes and self-silencing in terms of general psychopathology in individuals with fibromyalgia syndrome, which can be evaluated as a psychosomatic appearance, and to compare them with a healthy sample group. In the study, Childhood Traumatic Experiences Scale was used to evaluate childhood traumatic experiences, Self-Silencing Scale to measure individuals' self-silencing levels, Schema Mode Scale to measure schema modes, and Brief Symptom Inventory to measure general psychopathology levels. In the study, Childhood Traumatic Experiences Scale was used to evaluate childhood traumatic experiences, Self-Silencing Scale to examine individuals' self-silencing levels, Schema Mode Scale to measure schema modes, and Brief Symptom Inventory to evaluate general psychopathology levels. As a result of the analyzes performed, it was observed that the scores of the Childhood Mental Trauma Scale, the Self-Silencing Scale, and the Brief Symptom Inventory were higher in individuals with fibromyalgia syndrome. The results of multiple regression analyzes revealed that, in terms of the Schema Mode Scale subscales, the Hurt Child and Angry Child subscales and the Self-Silencing Scale subscales, the Split Self dimension scores statistically significantly predicted the Brief Symptom Inventory scores in participants with fibromyalgia syndrome.
