Abstract (EN)

It has been an important research topic in recent years that the quality of financial decisions made by individuals depends on their financial knowledge, skills, and attitudes. There is a high-level relationship between it and financial literacy. It is possible to say that there is such a high relationship between a country or society's welfare level and quality of life and the financial literacy levels of the individuals who make up that country or society. Many studies in this context show that many of the world's population lacks the financial information they need to participate fully in the economy or make informed decisions about their financial future. We can see in the results of various studies conducted in Turkey that this situation is also valid for Turkey. In addition, students' financial literacy levels are attracting worldwide attention due to their impact on financial and even political decision-making during their adult years. In line with Turkey's low financial literacy score, it can be understood that financial literacy levels are of great importance, given that university students in Turkey are future participants in an economy that is constantly facing crises. This situation reveals the necessity of financial education to increase financial literacy. In order to carry out such education more efficiently, studies should be started with the determination of financial literacy levels. Therefore, the aim of this study is to determine the financial literacy levels among university students studying in Turkey. In accordance with this purpose, to increase university students' financial literacy levels, it will be possible to have foresight about what kind of education should be given.
