Abstract (EN)

It is highly critical that firms improve their competition power through decreasing costs, and this can be achieved by defining the activities that cause high costs since they are not realized easily. In this study, the new product development process of a firm, whose processes are mapped with classical technique, was simplified with reconstructing the technique of Integration Definition for Function Modeling (IDEF0). Cost quality analysis was carried out with the help of the `Prevention ? Appraisal ? Failure? (PAF) model in order to identify the hidden high costs within process. At the end of this analysis, a pilot facility was constructed for the purpose of process improvement by using IDEF0 technique. It was concluded that the reconstructed model contributed to improvement in prevention and internal failure costs. In this study, a general literature search was performed regarding quality, quality development concept, quality costs, and IDEF0 method.
