Abstract (EN)
This study was carried out in order to examine the usage of sunlight energy ,which is the most common energy source on the Earth, to produce electricity and in order to observe the applications of the system on the buildings to produce the required heat and electric energy. In the study the sun energy potential of Turkey and the world are were researched. Also the structure, working prenciple, types of photovoltais cells and the design parameters of photovoltaic systems were studied. Also a referance application was designed at the end of the study by the PV*SOL simulation programme and the cost accounting was made. Some examples were given about the photovoltaic systems in Turkey and in the world. Plus, the future of phptpvpltaic systems and government subsidies were mentioned. When the sample project was examined, it came in view that the PV systems are still an expensive method for electricity production. But when we take into acount the increase in grid electricity prices and the decrease in PV system costs, it is clear that PV systems will be economically usable in close future.Key words: PV, photovoltaic, solar energy, electricity, renewable.
