Abstract (EN)

This research focuses on the formal analysis of Franz Schubert's Impromptu in D. 935 Op. Posth. 142. This piece is considered an important example among Romantic period works. The aim of this study is to understand the structure and significance of the piece through an in-depth examination of its musical and technical elements, such as performance techniques, form, tonality, and musical themes. In the first phase of the research, a literature review was conducted on Schubert's life, the musical characteristics of the period, and the general structure of Impromptus. Subsequently, the sheet music of the piece was analyzed using document analysis methods, and musical analyses were performed. As a result of these analyses, the study emphasizes the musical and historical significance of the work Four Impromptus D. 935 (Op. Posth. 142). The findings suggest that new insights into F. Schubert's compositional techniques and musical language have been provided. Additionally, the findings are expected to offer a useful resource for music performers. To our knowledge, there has been no comprehensive research on D. 935 Op. Posth. 142 in the national literature. Therefore, it can be said that this analysis lays the groundwork for future research.
