Abstract (EN)

Fusarium oxysporum is a soil borne fungus which causes wilt and root rot diseases in many crop plants and it is also an important phytopathogen that has formae speciales groups. Fusarium oxysporum f.sp.ciceris, the causal agent of Fusarium wilt disease of cultivated-chickpea (Cicer arietinum L.) has become a problem which adversely effects the chickpea cultivation in our country as well as the world. In this study, the pathogenicity analysis was carried out and vegetative compatibility groups (VCG) were identified of Fusarium oxysporum isolates, which were obtained from the chickpea growing areas of our country primarily the Southeastern Anatolia region containing the origin center of chickpea. As a result of vegetative compatibility group analysis, while there wasn?t a clear VCG determination among isolates from the province of Şanlıurfa, only a single VCG was determined on the province of Kahramanmaraş represented with 17 isolates. It was determined that 4 isolates of province of Adana were in a single VCG?s, and 2 isolates of Adıyaman province were in a single VCG?s. It was found that while 4 isolates belonging to Diyarbakır province were found in two different VCG?s, 3 isolates of Mardin province were in one VCG and 5 isolates of Mardin province were in a different VCG. These isolates were found to have high virulence according to the pathogenicity analysis.
