Abstract (EN)

The purpose of the present study is to investigate the 10-week core training applied with a Pilate's ball by soccer players and sedentary individuals on their balance performance. Forty-two male individuals of the 18-25 age groups, 20 of whom were sedentary individuals and 22 soccer players, were included in the study. Group 1: The soccer players experimental group who were given core training in addition to their soccer training (60min./2days/10week) (Age: 18.09 ± 0.30, Height: 174.72 ± 4.33, Weight: 67.27 ± 6.90, BMI: 21.99 ± 1.56). Group 2: The soccer players control group who were not given any training other than the soccer training (Age: 18.01 ± 0, 60, Height: 172.09 ± 7.46, Weight: 67.36 ± 7.08, BMI: 22.72 ± 1.62). Group 3: The sedentary experimental group who were given only the core training (60min./2days/10week) (Age: 21. 30 ± 0.82, Height: 175.90 ± 5.06, Weight: 73.80 ± 7.89, BMI: 23.88 ± 2.78). Group 4: The sedentary control group who were not given any training (Age: 19.80 ± 1.22, Height: 171.00 ± 3.39, Weight: 67.60 ± 7.42, BMI: 23.13 ± 2.54). While no statistically significant difference was found between the static balance pretest values of the groups (p>0.05), statistically significant differences were found between the posttest values of the "Group 1 and the Group 2", and those of the "Group 1 and the Group 3", and those of the "Group 1 and the Group 4" (p<0.05). When the time-dependent "Static Balance", values of the groups were examined by comparing the pretest and posttest values, statistically significant differences were determined between the "Group 1 and Group 3", and between the "Group 1 and the Group 4" (p<0.05). Statistically significant differences were found between the "Group 1 and the Group 2", between the "Group 1 and the Group 4", between the "Group 2 and the Group 3", and the" Group 3 and the Group 4" when the average points of the groups in the "Dynamic Balance" pretests were examined; and when the posttest values were examined, statistically significant differences were found between the" Group 1 and the Group 2", between the "Group 1 and the Group 3", and between the "Group 1 and the Group 4" (p<0.05). When the time-dependent"Dynamic Balance" values of the groups were examined by comparing the pretest and posttest values, statistically significant differences were determined between the "Group 1 and Group 2", and between the "Group 2 and the Group 3" (p<0.05). Consequently, core training was found to have a positive effect on the "Balance Performances" of soccer players and sedentary individuals.
