Abstract (EN)
In this study named "The Ghassanids" the political history of the Ghassanids who took the side of the Byzantines with the leadership of the Arabs in Syria, was examined. In the introductory part of the study, the places where the Ghassani State was established and the tribe that founded the state when they emigrated from Yemen, the states and tribes that prevailed in the region where they were established were explained. In the first part of the study, firstly information about the generation of the tribe that established the state is given. Then, the events that took place before the migration of the Ghassanids from Yemen together with the Ezd tribe to which they belonged and until the emigration and settling in Syria were included. Afterwards, Ghassanids, who came to Syria, was mentioned about his battles with Byzantium and his ally, Salih tribe before becoming a state. After the achievements of these wars, all the information gathered about the Gassani rulers who entered the service of Byzantium and settled in Syria and established a state there and strengthened this state and the period of sovereignty of the state were given. In the second part of the study, political relations of Gassanids with Byzantium were examined. In the third part, the struggle of Ghassanids against Sassanid Empire, one of the most powerful rivals of Byzantium and their allies Hire, is discussed with their political dimensions. In the last part of the study, the political relations of Ghassanids with Arabs before and after Islam are explained.
