Investigation on the Pyraloidea (Lepidoptera) fauna and systematic of Gaziantep province of Turkey

The aim of thisstudy is obtaining the fauna of Pyraloidea (Lepidoptera) in Gaziantep. The samples were collected beetween March 2009 and August 2011by sunglight trap, net and whitescreen in different localities, different elevations, climatic conditions, plantcovers, surface features in Gaziantep. The caterpillers and pupae werecollectedfromthefields and brought to the laboratory, and they were raised till adulthood. As a result of the study, 2 families, PyralidaeandCrambidae, 8 subfamilies, 26 genera and 34 species belongtoPyraloidea fauna were determined in Gaziantep. Morphologies of the species were studied, the species were described, some taxonomic characters were illustrated, and the identification keys of thefamilies, subfamilies ands pecies were prepared.
