Abstract (EN)

ABSTRACTIn recent years, complex formations are very popular for the selective adsorption forheavy metal ions that enter the environment from various industrial processes and causeserious toxic effects on living organisms even at very low concentrations from aqueoussolutions. In this study, preconcentration and removal of Cu2+, Co2+, Ni2+ and Fe2+ ions werestudied by means of the sorption on Amberlite XAD-4 resin as their SAB complexes.Optimum conditions for the soption of the metal ions on the resins were studied in termsof the technique of the complex formation, the type and the amount of the resin, pH andamount of the ligand.Maximum recoveries (nearly 100 %) were obtained at pH=6 on XAD-4, using 10 foldexcess of SAB for the investigated metal ions respectively. For the desoption of themetal ions from the resin, 3 M HNO3 in acetone was chosen as the best eluant. In this experiments, metal concentrations were determinated by AAS. Using 0.6 g of theresin preconcentration factor and column capasity were calculated as 40 and 100 µg ofmetal ions.Developed preconcentration method was applied to the AAS analysis of tap water, drinking water and mineral water that are added various ratio of Cu2+, Co2+, Ni2+ andFe2+ .Keywords: SAB, Iron, Copper, Nickel, Cobalt, Chelate, Resin, Preconcentration, AAS
