Abstract (EN)

In my thesis titled An Analysis Gediz Journal in terms of Folklore, it was tried to determine to what extent the modern folklore approach differed from the folklore concept of the 19th century. In the introduction part, it was tried to be evaluated according to the point of view of the establishment of community centers which were opened in 14 cities in 1932 and number of which reached to 478 until 1952, the innovations they brought and especially the importance of folklore. Starting from the Republican Era, the establishment of the community centers, the factors affecting the establishment of institutions, and the institutions that were taken as examples of the establishment purpose were highlighted. Information was given about the working styles of the nine different branches that constitute the functioning and structure of the Community Centers. These nine branches were: Language, Literature and History, Fine Arts, Representation, Sports, Social Aid, Public Classrooms and Courses, Library and Publication, Constellation, Museum and Exhibition. The aims of these nine branches were to educate the public and to establish a bridge with the public with the actions they have taken in their own fields. Thus, a bond to be established between the rulers and the ruled people were ensured by gathering the people's own products and transferring them to the next generations. 11 The Manisa Community Center has been organizing various activities and conferences on the path to building bridges with the people for the purposes they have been given since its establishment and at the same time gathered elements from village and settlements of Manisa. These elements were presented in Gediz magazine, the publication organ of the community center according to the folklore of the period. In this section which constitutes one of the sections of the thesis, with the understanding of folk science of that period, the similarities and differences of the folklore concept of the period in which we are present were tried to be revealed. In this section, which is the section called folklore understanding of the authors, today's folklore approach is also mentioned. In the last section of the thesis, products that had folklore property were published in Gediz magazine. Easiness will be provided in terms of examination of the magazine, which is wide in volume and in terms of access to the products that have the feature of folklore.
