Abstract (EN)
IV SUMMARY In this study, it is intended to determine the tendencies of the poor in Diyarbakir in terms of life-style, space design and usage, housing in order to develop suggestions to solve the housing problems of these people and design spaces for them. The apperance and increase of unlicensed houses are among the main reasons of the uncontrolled urban growth in Turkey. Due to the self-regarding attitudes of the control and local managements, the owners of these houses have been given title deeds for the land. Therefore, another type of illegal buildings has emerged: semi- licensed houses. The title deed of the land in the most important factor that differentiates a semi-licensed and unlicensed house. In order to prevent the uncontrolled urban growth, it is necessary to stop the illegal construction of these houses and to develop alternative housing models. This study, which presents data that can be used in the designing process of the houses for low-incomers in the future, consist of five main parts. In the first chapter, the aim and the scope of the study are unfolded the field of the study, Dicle quarter of Fişkaya District, generally is introduced. In the second chapter, unlicensed and semi-licensed house are described, the types of unlicensed are determined. The causes of the construction of this type of buildings and the construction processes are explained. Then the issue of the unlicensed houses in Diyarbakir is examined and the solutions produced about this subject in Turkey are presented. The methods used in the study and parameters chosen are specified in the third chapter. The fourth chapter, presents the findings concerned with the characteristics of the users, space design and usage, the feasibility levels of spatial activities, the satisfaction levels and the expectations of the user, the dimensions and meaning of the space.The fifth and the last chapter, covers the results obtained and implications for fixture research.
