Abstract (EN)

This study was conducted to examine traditional sports and e-sports in terms of cognitive flexibility, and to examine the levels of cognitive flexibility dimensions of traditional athletes and e-athletes. The universe of the research consisted of traditional and e- sports players in Turkey, and the sample consisted of 371 randomly selected athletes. The Cognitive Flexibility Inventory (BEE) developed by Dennis and Wal (2010) and the Turkish validity-reliability study conducted by Sapmaz and Doğan (2013) was used to obtain the data of the study. The data obtained as a result of the research were transferred to the SPSS 25 program and normality test was performed. The Mann-Whitney U test was applied to the data with two groups in the analysis of the data showing non-parametric distribution according to the test, and the Kruskal-Wallis test was used in the analysis of the data with more than two groups. As a result; when the cognitive flexibility inventory of the participants was examined in line with the findings obtained from the research, no significant difference was found in the control sub-dimension of the income status variable, but a significant difference was found in the sports branch variable, gender variable and age group variables.
