Studying traditional Mardin houses with in the context of design and ergonomic

Mardin located in South Eastern part of Turkey is one of the unusual cities which keeping alive different cultures,beliefs and traditional harmony and cultural heritage throughout the centuries till today .And ıt is one of sites which includes worship places of different beliefs ?monastery,church,mosque- as well as ceravanserais and traditional stone homes with fine historical textures and preserving its characteristics quality.Each component composing the Mardin Traditional Stone Houses observed with the framework of the study is designed and produced according to the daily life styles.Climate conditions ,customs and traditions ,beliefs,mores,social life,geographical location,topography and geology are the main elements forming the housing.Moreover, kinds of ergonomic factors ;visual,audial,thermal,anthropometric dimensions,climate and ingredients play a prominent role upon forming the Mardin Stone Houses.In this study the Traditional Mardin Stone Homes ergonomical relations is searched and a survey is conducted.As the Study Area,mansions in Mardin old town and Mardin Fortress are chosen and the survey is conducted in 110 houses. The obtained data is evaluated in SPSS programme and the results is illustrated through the shapes and charts.The Users expectations are compared with the houses current characteristics and Mardin Stone Houses is searched with the convenience context.Key Words: Mardin Traditional Stone Homes, ergonomic considerations,Users Expectations, raditional Houses, Climate-materials
