When it comes to the female image in art history, it goes back to the firstprehistoric humans. Thisprocess, which started from the zeropointof human history, shapes the culture and tradition of human beings through certain codes. Concept of culture; While it defines human behavior as a whole, tradition refers tothe myths, knowledge and behavioral patterns passed down through generations. Culture and tradition serve as a kind of identity that defines certain norms andbehaviors of people. The effects of every change in the social sphere have createdstrong results in the way of giving meaning and positioning the image of women. Contemporary Art; In the understanding of art formed after the separation of theconcepts of Contemporary and Modern Art, it points to a polyphonic mechanism thatincludes from past art movements to current art movements with a power that goesbeyond the boundaries of Modernism. Contemporary art, after the great division inart in the 18th century, has brought traditional artistic codes from a new perspective, outside the art-craft distinction, by blending them into today's contemporary artunderstanding. Contemporary art; Perhaps more than ever before, it offers today'sartists a rich language of expression and a repertoire of artistic materials as free aspossible, beyond all limitations. The changes experienced in the field of art areund oubtedly areflection ofthetrans formations experiencedat thesocial level. Imagination in art is shaped by the inner reflection of the artist's age. One of theunchanging images that are the subject of art today is the concept of identity, whichisshaped byhuman beings'searchforpositioning andre-meaningthemselvesin lifewith changing living conditions. Undoubtedly, the concept of identity is not separatefrom cultural codes. Primitive art, which became evident in post-modernist art, hasbrought art production based on cultural themes to the fore in world art. Thereflections of traditional, culturally themed, female identity-based productions on arthave become evident with Feminist art. Throughout art history, the image of womenhas been among the main topics touched upon in almost every art movement thatemerged. In today's contemporary art, the female image is one of the primary issuesthat remain current for artists who produce works in the contemporary art approachandare addressed froma critical perspective.
