Editional critique of Zübdetü't-Tevarih by Mustafa Ali of Gelibolu leaves between 1-111.

Mustafa èÁlí of Gelibolu is the most famous bureaucrat and historian of the16th century. He wrote a lot of works in his short life. One of these is Õübdetü´t-Tevâríò. The works is made up of an introduction, four chapters and a conclusionpert. This study examines the first 111 leaves in the Reşid Efendi copy. That is, itincludes the introduction and the first chapter of the book.èÁlí gives information about such notions as Nebi, Resul and Ulu´l Azm afterexplaning how he wrote the book. In the first chapter, he provides detailedinformation about Adam, Şit, Enoch, Noah, Hud, Salih, Abraham, Ishmael, Lot,Isaac, Jacob, Joseph, Job, Şuayb, Moses, Jonah, David, Solomon, Zechariah, Johnand Jesus respectively. In this respect, the work resembles a history of the prophets.Mustafa èÁlí mentions that he has translated İşrâúu´t-Tevâríò by KaraYaèkub b. Idris el- Karamâní from Arabic and extended it. Therefore, we havereached the copy of the above-mentionad book and şhown which parts had beentranslated in our transcripted text.That book by Mustafa èÁlí of Gelibolu is significant in that it has not beenstudied so far and that it reflects the aproach of the intellectuals and Ottoman peopletowards the history of the prophets.
