Abstract (EN)

The aim of this thesis is to examine young adults' levels of separation-individuation and their attitudes toward gender roles and to see whether separation-individuation levels and gender role attitudes show a significant difference based on sociodemographic variables such gender, education level, mother education level and father education level. The study's sample group included 506 young adults from various provinces in Turkey. To collect research data, the "Separation Individuation Inventory", "Gender Role Attitude Scale" and "Personal Information Form" were used. The SPSS 22 package program was used in the statiscal analysis of the data and Simple Regression, t- Testi and Tek Yönlü Varyans (ANOVA) were used in the analysis process. In the findings of the research, it was determined that there is no significant relationship between the total score of the gender role attitude, egalitarian, women, marriage, and traditional gender role scores, and the total score of separation-individuation inventory, and it was concluded that it did not significantly predict the level of separation-individuation. A significant relationship was found between the male gender role score and the total score of the separation-individuation inventory. It was found that the level of separation-individuation significantly differed according to the level of education and the father's education level, but did not show a significant difference according to gender and the mother's education level. It was concluded that attitudes towards gender roles showed a significant difference according to gender and father's education level but did not show a significant difference according to education level and mother's education level.
