Abstract (EN)

The main purpose of this study is to examine the mediating role of self-compassion and self-control in the relationship between authenticity and psychological well-being. 452 young adults ( 287 female, 160 male, 4 prefer not to say, 1 other ) between the ages of 22-40 participated in the study. This research used a Demographic Information Form and the Self-Compassion Scale, Authenticity Scale, Psychological Well-Being Scale, and Self-Control Scale to gather data. As part of the data analysis, Pearson Correlation Analysis was performed in order to determine the relationships between the variables. Finally, the Hayes PROCESS method was used to test the mediation model, and the bootstrap method was used to analyze the indirect effects. According to the findings, the model established to examine the effect of authenticity and mediator variables, self-control and self-compassion scores, on psychological well-being was found to be statistically significant. All variables in the study were found to have significant relationships with each other. When the findings of indirect effects were examined, the indirect effect of authenticity on psychological well-being was found to be significant, and it was determined that the indirect effect of authenticity on psychological well-being was significant, therefore, self-control and self-compassion mediated the relationship between authenticity and psychological well-being.
