Abstract (EN)

This study aimed to examine the relationship between romantic relationship satisfaction, emotional intelligence, and psychological flexibility in adults. The study employed a survey method, a quantitative research design. The study group consisted of 503 young adults in romantic relationships. Data collection tools included a Demographic Information Form, a Relationship Satisfaction Scale, an Emotional Intelligence Scale, and a Psychological Flexibility Scale. The data were analyzed using SPSS TURKISH (Statistical Package for the Social Sciences) 22, and parametric testing techniques were employed. The study found that gender, monthly income, education level, and romantic relationship type influence the IAS scores. The study also determined that emotional intelligence scores vary according to gender, age, education level, income level, romantic relationship type, and relationship duration. It was also determined that primary school graduates scored lower on the IAS than their university graduate peers. Finally, the study found a positive correlation between emotional intelligence and relationship satisfaction, and between psychological flexibility and relationship satisfaction. However, no significant relationship was found between mindfulness, well-being, acceptance, or various other general scores and dimensions. The findings indicate that emotional intelligence and psychological flexibility are important variables in understanding romantic relationship satisfaction. Therefore, it can be argued that efforts to develop individuals' emotional and psychological skills can increase satisfaction in romantic relationships. Keywords: emotional intelligence, young adulthood, relationship satisfaction, psychological flexibility.
