According to general high school`s teachers acquiring values to students by charactereducation: A multidimensional research

The aim of this research is to determine what is preferential values according to teacher to teach students good character in character education. This study was applied on the 300 branch and technical teachers who works in high schools of Istanbul Province. In this research, an information form inclined to gathering demographic variables and Schwartz Values Scale were used. In the research, independent group t-test, single-sided variance analysis (ANOVA) Post-Hoc Lsd tests, non parametric Kruskal Wallis-h test, non parametric Mann Whitney-U test being used, expressiveness levels were tested on the 0.5 level. With this study, evaluated the relationship between the subject of which preferential values must teach to students and teacher?s gender, age, marital status, seniority, branch, the last graduated school, the last graduated faculty variables. According to branch teachers achievement, hedonism, self-direction, conformity, and security values are more important than technical teachers; women teachers care self-direction, achievement, conformity and security; teachers who are graduated from faculty of education have found more important power and hedonism values than teachers who are graduated from other faculties. On the other hands, values which must preferential teach to students by teachers have been found in this order; universalism, self-direction, benevolence, conformity, security, achievement, tradition, hedonism, stimulation, and power.
