Abstract (EN)

Machine parts and tools are limited by wear and corrosion in the service conditions. For this reasons, the protection of these materials in the corrosive environment and wear conditions is of major importance, especially for economic reasons. To solve these problems and having more service life, the newgenerationtool steels are produced. Instead of changing materials used in machine parts with new and more expensive ones, just improving the surface properties such as wear and corrosion is economical and a practical approach to the problem. For this reason, hard ceramic film, carbide and composite coatings have shown vast improvement in recent years. Chemical vapor deposition (CVD) and physical vapour deposition (PVD) techniques have the most important coating techniques. CVD can lead to the heavy distortion of the treated parts and PVD requires expensive and complicated equipment. Therfore, after the searching for methods that are more economical but having the same results, thermoreactive diffusion (TRD) method has been developed. Solid State TRD process also have been referred in the literature as Pack Cementation Technique. In this study, GGG70 cast iron surface is coated with CrC composite layer by Tube Cementation Technique, and hardness and abrasion properties and roll life of GGG70 cast iron are increased. For this purpose, a tube cementation system will be installed, which can be a model for steel parts of certain sizes. The necessary experimental work will be done by using the system to be installed. It is also aimed to carry out the coating process of the rolls which are produced especially for industrial use and made of GGG70 cast iron. As a result of the studies done, it is expected to obtain a CrC composite layer with a thickness of about 5-15 microns. Thus, it is aimed to contribute to the economy of the country by increasing the tool life of the materials
