Exami̇nati̇on of curtai̇n wall systems and coati̇ng elements

Structure crust which protects the structure from external conditions and allows the structure to be distinguished from other structures in the region consists of various structure components and structure elements regardless of its construction muthodology as curtain it is constructer by curtain wall system or traditional methods. No matter which material, used the structural components and elements forming the curtain wall system should be designed so as to ensure user comfort in interior environment and should be resistant against factors such as earthquake, wind and fire. Heat, sound and light passages should be determined according to user comfort. The façade being aesthetic also affects user comfort. The curtain wall system is used for ensuring user comfort. Some decisions need to be taken during design stage. İf some design criteria are determined so as to support designers the decision takip stage. Physical, chemical and mechanical properties of coating elements used in facades needed to be explained with the help of tables. In this study the aim is to examine the curtain wall systems and coating elements used in the structures today. Key words: curtain wall system, coating elements, curtain wall design criteria
