Abstract (EN)
After Covid 19, the use of technology and consumption of technology products have increased in the world. It has been observed that people's perception of health has changed, and the use of wearable technologies in education, art and social life has become widespread. It is noteworthy that smart watches are adopted by all segments and age groups due to their functional and life-facilitating features. In our study, we aimed to see the risk levels and types perceived by Fırat University employees when buying or using smartwatches and perhaps to contribute to the new smartwatches and applications to be made for employees. Especially considering the demographic richness of Fırat University, it is hoped that it will be a source and shed light on future studies. Our research was conducted with a questionnaire administered to 351 employees working at Fırat University; civil servants, managers, doctors, dentists, nurses, academicians, auxiliary services, technicians and other occupational groups. The data obtained as a result of the research were analyzed through SPSS 25 package program. In the study, it was determined that the risk factors perceived by smart watch users were grouped under six dimensions and the perceived risks showed some differences according to demographic characteristics. In order to minimize the risk perceptions of users, it is essential to convince them about social risk and performance risk perceptions. Another issue that needs to be clarified and convinced is whether these devices are harmful to health for users. Keywords: Wearable Technology, Smart Watch, Risk
