Abstract (EN)

Nature and natural formations in almost every branch of art have been a guiding and inspirational source for the artist. The irregular and often broken geometric forms in nature are called "fractal geometric forms", and many scientists have studied them in detail. Fractal geometric forms could also be seen in artistic models created by famous designers, especially in clothing design. When the history of fashion is followed, it is seen that the prime forms were created depending on the requirements of the day and climatic conditions, starting from ancient civilizations. Fractal geometric forms and the sub-expansions of this geometric system were used in different art and clothing design branches, starting from these periods. In this study, the meaning of fractal geometry, the historical development process and the characteristics of fractals, the concept of symmetry, geometric objects, the geometry of nature by using mathematical analyses such as the Golden Ratio and Fibonacci theory were examined. Also, examples of its use in clothing design were given. It aims to increase the use of fractal geometry and be a resource for future generations with contemporary clothing designs, surface studies, suggested clothing sketches, and an applied design example.
