Abstract (EN)
Göbeklitepe is the oldest architectural monument in the world. Located in the Germus Mountains in southeast Turkey and erected at an altitude of fifteen kilometers on the summit of this long mountain ridge, the structure is known to be the oldest man-made temple in the world. This 12,000-year-old temple is thought to be the oldest surviving religious site in the world. The discovery of Göbeklitepe in 1974 shocked archaeologists and scientists. Some researchers even went so far as to claim that this site was the biblical garden of Eden. There are 43 'T' shaped megaliths in Göbeklitepe building systems, the average height of these columns is 4-6 meters. Wild animal bones have also been found at the site, indicating that he had not yet begun to domesticate or farm animals. The presence of such remains at the site indicates that the structure was built by hunter-gatherers who depended heavily on wild food and life for sustainability. Thus, the site has led to a reassessment between settlement and sociocultural development. The sculptures and architectural pottery at Göbekli Tepe predate the beginning of writing, the wheel and agriculture. Göbekli Tepe not only adds an important value to learning about our history, but also has a rich geography, location and unique architecture and unique artistic works in its field. The aim of this study is to deal with the drawings and reliefs, sculptures and other archaeological remains in Göbeklitepe within the framework of art.
