Immigration and morali̇ty: Ci̇nema examples

In this thesis, migration and morality are evaluated together. While making these assessments based on various concrete data, various problems will arise depending on the reasons for people to migrate. It is here that how different moral approaches evaluate these problems is treated. In this context, immigration and refugees are examined through two cinema examples. Today, the classification of migration as voluntary and forced migration is more common. In the first chapter, the causes of migration under the heading of voluntary and forced migration are examined in detail. The immigration of the migrant in order to obtain better living conditions is included in the class of voluntary migration.Voluntary migrations are detailed according to the purpose of the migration. Today, the refugee concept have emerged with forced migration. The factors causing the refugee in the world have been examined under the title of forced migration. In the second chapter, the development of the emergence of refugees in the historical process is discussed. Migration and refugee are considered among various moral approaches. These moral approaches have been put forward as theses of those who defend open and closed borders. Understanding the immigrants and refugees in the realization of migration, which is one of the biggest problems in the world, may present difficulties for modern man. In the third chapter of this thesis, the emotions and psychology of the refugees are explained through the mass art, cinema. Different moral approaches examined in this study are tried to be put forward through the scenario. One of these films is ''In This World", which includes both forced migration and voluntary migration for economic reasons. Another film ''Hotel Rwanda'' is about the struggle to obtain refugee status in order to save the lives of people who took refuge in the hotel after the genocide in Rwanda, one of the bloodiest genocides of the 20th century. As a result of this study, a proposal has been presented in order to put forward a new philosophy of migration. Key Words: Migration, Forced Migration, Refugee, Cinema
