Abstract (EN)

Evaluating the opinion of the parents living in districts which take migrationabout the education of their children.The aim of this study is to find out the opinion of the parents living indistricts which take migration about the education of their children and therelationship between these opinions and the socio-cultural features of these parents.The study sample is formed by the guardians of 363 girl students studying inthe second grade of totally 5 Primary Schools in 3 central counties of districts whichtake migration belong to İzmir province in the education year 2005-2006In collecting the data, by making use of related literature and researches inthis field, the questionaire ? The opinions of the families living in the migrationtaking districts about the education of their children? has been used which isdeveloped by the researcher.Research data have been analyzed in SPSS Programme and written in tablesin the form of arithmetical medium, standard deviation and percentage frequency.According to the findings obtained in this study:1. It has been determined that there is no meaningful relation between theopinions of the fathers and mothers as to their boys? education and their professions,level of education and income but there is a meaningful relation as to the number oftheir children,2. there is no meaningful relation between the opinions of mothers about theeducation of their boys and the number of girl children they have, but there is ameningful relation for fathers? opinions about their boy children?s education,3. there is a meaningful relation for mothers and fathers between theiropinions about the education of their girl children and their income, number ofchildren and number of girl children, but no meaningful relation as to theirprofessions,4. there is no meaningful relation for fathers between their opinions aboutthe education of their girl children and their level of education, but there is ameaningful relation for mothers between their opinion about the education of theirgirl children and their level of education.5. Among the reasons of families not letting their girl and boy children toschool, although the ratio of the families saying ?yes? to the opinion of economicalinsufficiency and their schools being far away or difficult transportation is more forgirls than the boys, it has been determined that their ratios are very close to eachother.6. It has been found out that among the reasons of families not letting theirgirl and boy children to school, the opinion of their getting bad habits easier ratesmore for boy children than girl children.7. It has been determined that among the reasons families not letting theirgirl and boy children, the opinion of girls and boys being in the same school, themothers needing help at home, the education given being against the idea of theirsrate more for girl children than boy children.8. As inferred from the 3., 6., 9. articles, it has been determined that theobstacles against the girl children for not continuing their education are more thanthe boy children.
