Abstract (EN)

Considering its location and past cultural ties with neighboring countries, Turkey has become a country of attraction for immigration almost everywhere, especially from neighboring countries. Turkey's geography and location have made it one of the preferred regions for people considering migrating from the surrounding area. Since the Second World War and the Cold War, large-scale individual migrations have been replaced by mass migrations; The change in immigration due to push factors is a serious increase. There are some reasons for these increases. Accordingly, economic, political and social factors have a serious impact on the causes of deaths. However, immigrants' perception of Turkey as a target has led to discussions about the immigration area as well as to this situation in Turkey. In addition to migration in the Middle East and the high migration potential in this region, the possibility of a person migrating to Turkey committing a crime is among the recent research topics. The relationship between migration and crime continues in parallel. Some researchers state that immigrants may have a much higher potential for involvement in crime compared to their target people, and that many crimes are committed directly by immigrants, while others state that the crime continues to be traced to the country where the crime occurs. Changes in the relationship between immigration and crime do not constitute the entirety of these two thought studies. However, it seems that these two views are the majority in the literature. For this reason, this research examines the distance between migration and crime with the example of Van city center. In this context, the issue is tried to be explained by creating a survey with local people living in Van. In this research, a general conclusion is drawn considering the relationship between migration and crime. In addition; The data obtained from the surveys are explained statistically in tables and the subject is exemplified through Van city center.
