Abstract (EN)

It is possible to assess man's approach to life in two stages The first is the period in which man's interraction with nature is shaped. In this period, nature was comprehended in a holistic manner. Man's domination over his kind became widespread, in time this brought about the establishment of man's domination over nature. As an outcome of this, democracy was overshadowed. At this stage, it is possible to distinguish the motivations which cause us to qualify democracy as overshadowed into two: One of them is the claim that the interpretation of the terms, such as freedom, equality and justice, made by the overshadowed democratic discourse do not meet "a priori" ideals. Thus, freedom is constricted by the growing state describing liberty by the terms of market or private life. Equality includes equal rigths during juristiction or the efforts to maintain social equality. At this stage consumption is articulated into theory that enables the survival of overshadowed democracies. The second motivation is the claim that the basic institutions of participation operating political life is disfunctional. Because, many factors such as society being driven by the manipulation of mass media, injustice in the electory system and the inconsistency of presidental election prove that the democracies are overwhelmingly overshadowed. To overcome this conceptual and functional crisis requires not only an alteration of point of view in politics but also, life in all aspects. Because the ecological crisis forced by the age of overshadowed democracies urges for a change in approach nature. Key Words 1. Democracy 2. Ecological Crisis 3. Modernism 4. Enlightenment Age 5.
