Abstract (EN)

With the rapidly increasing human population in our country and in the world, the demand for energy is increasing day by day. Fossil fuels cause serious environmental pollution and will run out in the near future. In addition, it has become necessary to seek renewable energy in order to prevent our country from becoming dependent on foreign sources for its energy needs. Considering the geographical conditions of our country, solar energy is the most usable and efficient renewable energy source. When the use of solar energy increases, our country will be free from dependence on fossil fuels and external sources, and global warming will be prevented. In order to get the efficiency we want from solar energy and solar power plants, it is extremely important to analyze the solar power plants to be installed very well and to master all the details. The main ones are; panel selection is the solar radiation values of the province and region where the power plant will be established, distance to consumption points, distance to living areas, land/roof features, cost analysis and ultimately depreciation period. In this thesis study, solar energy is defined, how electricity is produced from solar panels is explained, solar panel types are analyzed, and the equipment needed to produce electricity from solar energy is mentioned. After technical information about solar energy, the solar energy potential of Malatya province was explained with graphics. Subsequently, the electricity production and consumption values of the Turgut Özal Medical Center 5MW Solar Power Plant, established in Malatya province, for 9 years were analyzed in detail with the help of graphs and tables.
