Abstract (EN)

The approach to care for welfare systems has been changing by the reality of growing aging population and changing gender patterns. Turkey primarily emphasizes the family in the care that is covered in the state-market-family system because of its South European welfare system. The responsibility of the state for care is less expensive by the existence of gendered migration process. In this study, the issue of female immigrants is analyzed in the Southern European welfare regime, Turkey, Spain, Italy and Greece, and it is evaluated on the ground of gender-based care. Within this framework, the birth and fertility rates of countries, population growth rates, old age population rate and migrant stock data in countries are examined. It is observed that the desire of governments to minimize costs in providing social welfare makes migrant women providers of social welfare.
