Abstract (EN)
In Anatolia, which hosts cultures and civilizations, a new synthesis emerged between Principalities, Seljuk and Ottoman paintings and existing cultures. These interactions in culture and art have caused the growth of a rich art environment in different geographies of Anatolia. Although different in the construction of the works, stone and wood have become one of the most commonly used building materials. Due to wood's ease of success as well as growth and sustainability, people have evaluated this material at every stage and it has turned into a basic building material where life can be found in the hands of copies of the era. Wood, which is used as the main material in the construction of many architectural works due to its ease of processing, has also been preferred for the partitioning of door and window sashes. Doors and moldings whose areas of use are exterior walls should be selected from material types that are resistant to weather conditions and microorganisms. When creating a work of art by craftsmen, it is understood from the types of materials used in the structures that they have characteristics regarding the existence, properties and storage of the product. The 84 door and window sashes identified on architectural structures during the field study conducted in the Southeastern Anatolia Region cover a wide period of time between the 13th and 20th centuries. Wooden door and window sashes obtained from tree species growing in the region offer large surfaces for the application of ornamental compositions. When we look at the ornamental compositions and woodwork applied on the large surfaces of the identified works, it is clearly seen that the decoration and construction techniques in regions such as Central Asia, Syria and Egypt have an influence, as well as the existing culture. Although there have been some changes over time in the characters that make up the universe of the compositions, the application of ornamentation techniques has not changed. In this context, the fact that the works identified are located on different building types necessitated the evaluation of ornamental compositions from a broad perspective. The evaluations are in themselves, but the comparison is made by comparing the similarities and differences with the works of the civilizations that dominated the region and Anatolia. As a result, it is seen that the construction techniques and ornamental compositions identified on the works carry the cultural identity of the past to the present day. Many of the material cultural assets, which play important roles in determining the identity and character of the society, have not survived to the present day as a result of conscious or unconscious actions. The material cultural assets we identified on civil and religious architectural structures in Southeastern Anatolia were photographed, drawn and recorded. The aim of transferring these works, which have been analyzed in detail, to the next generations makes our study important.
