Abstract (EN)
Sustainability is the principle of operating that meets the needs of today in order to meet the needs of future generations while preserving natural resources. Sustainable practices are an important solution to enrich creative developments and increase social growth in the art education process. In the research, it was considered to combine the use of sustainable materials and technologies, to gain experience in working with recyclable and environmentally friendly materials, and to contribute to the efficient use of natural resources in the world. In this research conducted with 33 students from the 12th grade painting department of Kütahya Ahmet Yakupoğlu Fine Arts High School, sustainable educational activities in "Two-Dimensional Art Workshop" courses and their contributions to ongoing art practice are examined. In the research, the theme of "Sustainability" was discussed in the TwoDimensional Art Workshop Course of Fine Arts High Schools; Adopting waste management practices in workshops enables them to minimize waste in a multitude of creative growths and develop a sustainable art practice through upcycling practices. In the study to be carried out, action research pattern, one of the qualitative research methods, was used to obtain information about the subject through document review and literature review. In the applied action research, weekly lesson plans were created by associating the "Transformation" topic with sustainable art activities in line with the annual plan of the 12th Grade Two-Dimensional Art Workshop course. It has been stated that sustainable practices in "Two-Dimensional Art Workshop" courses increase students' environmental and social awareness and encourage their creativity. The use of sustainable materials and techniques has given students experience working with upcyclable and environmentally friendly materials. This has contributed to students learning how to use natural resources efficiently and reducing their environmental impact. As a result, the thesis reveals that sustainable practices in the Two-Dimensional Art Workshop courses of Fine Arts High Schools contribute to students' growth as more conscious individuals by increasing their artistic and environmental awareness. These practices enrich art education with a sustainability-oriented approach, allowing young artists to take leading roles in social and environmental issues in the future.
